10 Questions About BTG

Welcome to a new start for “Behind the Glasses”. The purpose of this blog is to give you a little glimpse of what it’s like in my head. To help to orient new readers to the blog, I have expertly crafted 10 questions that you might be asking yourself about this blog.

1. Why are you qualified to write this column?
No real qualifications here. Just an intense desire to write mixed with a warped sense of things I observe in everyday life.

2. Can’t I just read other “humorous” columns in the local paper?
Have you tried to do that recently? In this age of corporate newspapers, you get the same three columnists everywhere in the US. I’m trying to provide an alternative voice to “the same old thing”.

And don’t even get me started on Andy Rooney.....

3. Are you planning to put out audio/video content?
One thing at a time. First I have to get some stuff written. Eventually, I would love to transition to an audio or video podcast. Life is a lot more funny when you can see someone getting hit in the balls vs. writing about it.

4. What is pi to five digits?
3.14598. Why do you ask?

5. How often will you publish?
As much as I can. I realize that like a prom queen, the more I put out, the more popular I will be.

6. What other exciting things can we look forward to from this website?
I have published an RSS feed on the sidebar or this blog showing what I’m reading (via Google Reader), feeling (via Twitter), and seeing (via Flickr). Doing this should give you a direct link into my head.

7. Where are you from?
I grew up in Minot, ND, educated in Fargo, ND (don’t you know?) and now live in Rochester, MN. So don’t make fun of my accent!

8. Why are you making up fake questions when you don’t have an audience yet?
Every website needs a FAQ.

9. Will reading your blog improve my sex life, career, and/or financial independence?
Yes, no, no. In that order.

10. Your blog is wonderful! How can I support it?
Very soon I will be putting up a PayPal button for anyone to make donations as they see fit. For those of you that are tightwads, I will have Amazon links up to different poducts I am thinking about or using right now. If you use my affiliate link, I will get credit for that as well.

Hope you like the site!
